Jump: A Novella ReviewThe author of Jump, Si Dunn, provides his readers with a window into the life of a former Navy man suffering from PTSD. As Gage, now a struggling writer, attempts to make a life for himself after the Vietnam conflict, the recurring nightmares continue to haunt him. Feeling isolated and disconnected from the world, Gage repeats mistakes in his relationships with women and wanders from place to place as he continues to write.
Dunn's unique style of writing, which will sometimes "jump" between battle flashbacks and the present time, is refreshing and intriguing. Dunn's soulful poems are also interspersed throughout the novella.
