A O - AFTER OBAMA Review
When I first picked up this book "AO - After Obama", I have to admit that I was not sure where it would lead me and after the first few pages it was obvious it was going to be a good read because it pulled me right in. Usually politics can be boring and for this to be my first book on politics I'm spoiled now. I thought it would be boring...wrong! There are so many mixed feeling about the topic already. I had to keep reading to see what the thoughts and actions were going to be in our country once Obama left office. There were problems exposed and I never really thought about some of them until I read them.
I guess out of sight out of mind. Does the book answer all the questions you want it to, no. It is worth reading though and the author provides some thought provoking material for you. The author, Geoffrey Morgan touches unfamiliar territory and this is why the book is interesting and should be picked up for anyone that you know that is into politics or wants a taste of the front office and the decisions being made daily on our behalf. Of course, if you have a weight problem then you definitely want to pick this book up for some very interesting reading. Talk about taking it to the extremes. It would be a great book club conversation book.
A O - AFTER OBAMA OverviewThe new president of the USA inherits an unholy mess from the Obama administration. The national debt is eighteen trillion dollars and rising. However, the new government's efforts to reduce public spending come to nothing, and in desperation the president adopts a plan drawn up by his jingoistic chief of staff Oliver Mandelson. A keen student of history, Mandelson noted that America had prospered from every war she had fought. Even the disastrous Vietnam war had its merits as the draft lowered the unemployment levels, as did the munitions factories that sprang up from coast to coast. It was time to start a new war, but it would have to be a big war, unlike piddling adventures such as Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya. The target is Iran, and once that country has been overrun and conquered the war is to be expanded to the oil-rich countries of the Caucasus, thus solving at a stroke America's chronic shortage of the black gold that has shot up to 200 dollars a barrel. The opening assault on Iran goes well, but out of the smoking ruins of the capital,Teheran, a terrible nemesis is unleashed that has the mighty invasion forces fighting desperately for their very existence. And once the nemesis has destroyed the invaders it turns its attention to the continental USA, to ensure that never again would America be able to wage war against a legitimate member of the United Nations.
