Breath of the Choson Dragon ReviewEvery once in awhile, you stumble across a very pleasant surprise in a book you never heard of and find just by accident. Jack Wells has created just such a pleasant surprise with "Breath of the Choson Dragon." The scope of the novel spans the globe. It covers aspects of the disintegration of the USSR and loose control of its massive stockpile of weapons, but the main part of the story deals with the North Korean government's intent to reunify the country. In the mind of the North Korea's leadership, the US stands squarely in the way of their goal of reunification.
It is a complex story, but Wells does a masterful job of weaving a consistent and credible story line. The technical aspects of the novel are well researched. Wells has included an appendix with photos of various weapon systems included in the story, zulu time conversion chart, and a table of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea naval ranks. I appreciated the appendix.
If you like Tom Clancy, I think you will like "Breath of the Choson Dragon."
