I loved the humorous stories--and yes, they are quirky and at first seemingly obscure--but the stories are just hilarious and even a bit unbelievable (although Matthew has assured me they are true!). Not only are the stories hilarious (be careful of where you are when you read them as you may burst out laughing), but Matthew's writing style is VERY enjoyable to read. Combine these elements: readability, delicious wording and descriptions, cleverly witty ways of staging and describing events, and an unbelievable way of taking seemingly unrelated snippets and bringing them together to make the story even RICHER and funnier than if told sequentially. I really look forward to what the future holds for Matthew and his writing....he is very talented and his books are literally the highlight reads of my year!
