Sea Dwellers: The Humor, Drama, and Tragedy of the U.S. Navy Sealab Programs ReviewSea Dwellers was a very different type of book about the "Man in the Sea Program" of the 1960's. Bob Barth gives a true account of the development of the Navys saturation diving program- specifically the Sealab programs. It is unusual to hear the story of such a program from a man who was instrumental in its development(yet, not an officer). The tale follows the development of the US Navys venture into undersea habitation. Barth spins a tale which is peppered with humor and true gut wrenching bravery. These men, which incidentally included the Astronaut Scott Carpenter, are relatively unknown to most. Yet, their adventure was no less dangerous than putting a man in space. The work they did revolutionized deep sea diving and the world of commercial diving. This book leads you through the development of the program and ends with the tragedy which not only killed a man, but the whole program. This book was intriguing and written in such a way as to keep you fully immersed in the story you are told. It is a must for anyone interested in the sea and mans adventure in it.Sea Dwellers: The Humor, Drama, and Tragedy of the U.S. Navy Sealab Programs OverviewWant to learn more information about Sea Dwellers: The Humor, Drama, and Tragedy of the U.S. Navy Sealab Programs?
