The Navy Blues: The Bluecoats Vol. 2 ReviewIn this volume of the long-running French-language series, now being translated into English, Sgt. Chesterfield and Cpl. Blutch, a pair of mismatched buddies in the US Cavalry, find themselves, after many misadventures, serving in the Navy. Again and again, though, their usual bad luck strikes...the sailing ship they start on has an unpleasant encounter with a (real) Confederate submarine, their steamship breaks down right in the sights of a Confederate artillery battery, and on it goes.
Sgt. Chesterfield is his usual self...zealous, devoted and loyal. Cpl. Blutch is his opposite...he malingers shamelessly to get out of yet another suicidal charge in the cavalry, and whinges endlessly about the new assignments they're given. Still and all, they're devoted comrades, inseparable (even when they devoutly wish to be apart.)
Unlike _Robertsonville Prison,_ I didn't notice any real errors here. This book would be a good gift for a kid who's into the Civil War.The Navy Blues: The Bluecoats Vol. 2 Overview
