The Old Scofield Study Bible, KJV, Classic Edition (Thumb-Indexed, Navy Bonded Leather) ReviewI am writing this review for the LEATHER BOUND edition of the Old Scofield Study Bible, KJV, Classic Edition. Bear in mind the crucial distinction between LEATHER BOUND and BONDED LEATHER...if you're serious about Bibles, you probably prefer leather bound. I bought this under the assumption that it was leather bound (after all, that's what it says in the description). I even paid extra for the leather bound (not that much, less than a dollar, but that's beside the point). However, while the invoice says I ordered the LEATHER BOUND, the box that the Bible came in says BONDED LEATHER, plain as day. Now, I would by far prefer the leather bound, but this bonded leather is great as well...it's more flexible than I thought (most bonded leather Bibles are stiff). The pages are sewn well and are of extremely high quality; this is a beautifully crafted Bible, and certainly a classic. My problem is not that this is a crappy bonded leather, it's that it's not what I ordered. The Bible itself gets five stars for format and craftsmanship; however, I take off one star for Amazon's awful misrepresentation of these products (this is not the first time this has happened to me). Bottom line, Amazon: Some of your shoppers want very specific things, especially when it comes to books and Bibles.
